Eaton Fire Response
Altadena and Pasadena, California
Clean Air Campaign with Brio
When the Eaton Fire swept through our hometown on January 7, 2025, families were left dealing with severe smoke damage and hazardous air quality. In the immediate aftermath, air purifiers were nearly impossible to find — stores were sold out, shipping was delayed over two weeks, and our community was in crisis.
We reached out directly to our partners at Brio, who responded immediately by shipping 500 air purifiers to the Los Angeles area within a week, arriving January 14, 2025. We were among the first on the ground, hand-delivering units to families who were unable to evacuate, or who had returned home to conditions that were far from safe.
Our Altadena Clean Air Campaign fundraised and donated, providing over 110 purifiers to those most in need by the first week of February. The stories we heard were deeply moving — elderly residents with pre-existing conditions, new parents concerned for their newborns, and families who had lost everything and moved in with others, only to find the smoke had followed them there.
It was a reminder that this work is about more than technology. It's about showing up for the community we're proud to serve.
